Welcome
to the Fresno Scottish Rite Children's Language Disorders
Center 2009 Auction web page.
The Auction committee is in action and
we are working on an exciting event. This year's
auction promises to be spectacular with great food, a
dazzling atmosphere, and some fabulous items for you to bid
on.
Our goal is to provide you with an
unforgettable evening, while raising over $30,000 for the
Language Disorders Center.
The Auction will be held on August 15,
2009, at Pardini's Restaurant and Banquet Facilities in
Fresno (West Shaw & Van Ness Avenues). The doors will open at 4:00pm and the Silent
Auction will begin promptly. Once you have registered,
you're ready to charge off towards the presentation tables
and start bidding on plenty of great items, while dining on
wonderful hors d'oeuvres and tasting marvelous wines.
Then prepare yourself for a fantastic
dinner, complete with dessert, while being entertained by
the live auction. We'll have some great surprises for
you as well as the Friends of the Language Disorders Center
the winning tickets for various prizes.
Finally we'll close down the silent
auction so you can see what goodies you have obtained by
victoriously out bidding the other participants. Check
out should be quick and easy; we even take credit cards.
As to dress, you may wear your Tux,
Tails, White Gloves & Top Hat if desired, otherwise business
attire is just fine.
If you have any questions or comments, please
e-mail us or call
the Temple Secretary at (559) 268-9631.
Tickets will are available now at the
Scottish Rite Temple or by calling the Temple Secretary at
(559) 268-9631.
To purchase (activate) the tickets,
simply fill out the ticket stubs and mail the stubs in the
pre-paid envelope, along with your check made out to the
Fresno Scottish Rite.
If you have not received tickets in the
mail by July 15, please e-mail the
Auction Committee with your mailing info.
The ticket price this year is $50 to cover the additional food
expense. We will be providing a wonderful dinner at the
Piccadilly, with professionally selected and served hors
d'oeuvres, and marvelous desserts. Wine and spirits
will be available for purchase at the event.
But we've also added some fun premium packages which might tempt you:
There are two "Table for
Ten" specials, each being $500. The Lemonade & Lollipops,
which uses pitchers of Lemonade and Lollipops as the
centerpiece; or the Wine & Cheese table which includes two
bottles of premium wine, and a cheese and crackers plate as
the centerpiece. Both tables include door prizes for
each seat at the table.
There
are three "Table for Eight" packages; Beer & Pretzels, for
$650.00; Margaritas & Shrimp, for $750.00; and Champaign &
Lobster, for $1,000.00. Each seat at the table
receives a door prize.

There are several ways you can help!
First, we need additional items to
auction. If you have acquaintances or know retailers that have some
interesting items to donate, please contact them. Once you have secured
the gift, please contact the Temple Secretary or Assistant.
We will be very pleased to provide the donor with a letter verifying the
donation along with our tax identification number for tax purposes.
Buy tickets
to the event. Tickets are on sale now. You
can get tickets by calling the Scottish Rite Temple Secretary at (559)268-9631,
or look for the Scottish Rite member in your lodge that may be selling tickets.
You can also e-mail the
Auction
Committee to purchase tickets. See the
Ticket Information section to the left about ticket prices and levels.
Sell Tickets to
Others. This is a great event to sell tickets to both Masons, and
non-Masons. What better way to allow non-Masons to see the light by which
Masons work!
If you are trying to
encourage younger members to join your lodge, or encourage Masons to join
Scottish Rite, ask them to buy tickets to the Auction.
The Auction Committee will
present four awards during the evening; the first for the Blue Lodge with
highest percentage of brothers attending the event; and a second for the Blue
Lodge with the greatest number of brothers attending the event; a third for the
Blue Lodge with the greatest number of total ticket sales; and fourth for the
individual brother who sells the most tickets over all.
If you
would like to sell tickets, please e-mail the
Auction Committee with your name and
lodge. We will get you a ticket sales package as soon
as they are available.
The silent auction items we are hoping to get are items which are attractive,
useful, and might work as a great Christmas gift under the tree.
If you are thinking
about asking a retail acquaintance for a donation, you are welcome to mention that items
with retail values over $100 will be recognized as a gratuity (Thank You!) in the program guide.
For items over $250 in value, the retailer will be showcased. And finally,
donated items over $500 in retail value will be in a special spotlight section.
Auction items exceeding $1,000 in retail value will be highlighted in the live auction.
If you receive a donation to be
auctioned, it is very important that you send the
Auction
Committee the following information so we can send the donor
a "Thank You" with our tax information:
- Description of Donation
- Business Name
- Business Owners Name
- Address (City & Zip)
If the donation is valued above
$250, we will need information about the business for
promotion at the auction.
You can
download an Auction Flyer
to print and distribute to potential donors. The Flyer is in
Adobe PDF format.
To cut down our program printing costs, we are offering display
advertising in the Auction Program Guide. The program
guides are 4.25" x 11" (inches). Last year's
guide is available for
download (PDF format).
Advertisers not only get a display in the program
guide, they also get a 60 day banner on this website as a thank you for helping to sponsor the
Auction. Below are the advertising rates.
- Half Page - $250
- Back Page (Partial) - $400
- Business Card - $50
- Sponsor List - $20
If you would like to advertise,
please send an
e-mail with your artwork and information to the
Auction Committee, or send it via U.S. Mail to the
Scottish Rite Temple. You may call the Temple
Secretary for additional information.
